As Easy as ABCD... An Introduction to Asset-Based Community Development

Poverty…. Drug Abuse… Crime…. “Bad” Neighborhoods… Communities and the people who live there are typically described in terms of what’s wrong with them. What if we started thinking about our communities as being rich with assets? Join us as we begin to explore what it means when we look at communities differently.  Building on the skills of local residents, the power of local associations, and the supportive functions of local institutions, Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) draws upon existing community strengths to build stronger, more sustainable communities for the future.
